2011 Yamaha FZ8-N and Fazer8 Technical Specifications

Yamaha has assuredly appear abounding blueprint for its new middleweight artery sportsbikes, the naked FZ8-N and semi-faired yamaha Fazer8. A 779cc agent acquired from the FZ1 donk is the brilliant of the show, with a complete FZ1 anatomy and swingarm as well. The new agent makes decidedly added torque than the abate FZ6 for a gruntier, added attainable ability ambit about boondocks - but builds to a advantageous 105-horsepower top end blitz back it's time to get a ankle on. It looks like a fun, fast and affable artery sportsbike - and yes, yamaha FZ6 fans, it has formally replaced the 600 in the FZ lineup.

As abounding accept suspected, the agent is absolutely a scaled-down adaptation of the fuel-injected 1000cc FZ1 engine, alone to 779cc by abbreviation the agent bore, accretion compression, swapping out the pistons, crankshaft and top end. The consistent motor puts out a blow beneath 105 horsepower, with 82 Nm of torque.Effectively, that top-end application amount doesn't assume to be abundant up on the 90-odd rear caster horses offered by the lighter, 600cc FZ6 donk. But the stroked-out FZ8 makes its ability abundant beforehand in the rev range, a actuality which should accomplish it a abundant added accommodating and acquisitive powerplant about boondocks and in the majority of real-world benumbed conditions.

The bad account is that by abbreviation the FZ1 engine's bore, the FZ8 doesn't administer to afford any agent admeasurement or weight. The acceptable account that comes as a aftereffect is that the FZ8 is adored with the admirable FZ1 anatomy and swingarm, which do an accomplished job of accouterment acerbity and angle in all the appropriate places. There's not a lot for gearheads to get aflame about elsewhere; abeyance seems adequately basic, adjustable alone for rear preload, and the brakes are four-piston monoblock jobs, with the advantage of abacus ABS.

There's two versions available, aloof like with the FZ6 and yamaha FZ1 platforms - the naked FZ8-N looks nice and beefy and stylish, and the semifaired Fazer8 looks a little more... Practical. The FZ8-N weighs 211kg accessible to cycle with a abounding catchbasin of gas, the Fazer8 215kg - and you can add 5kg to either if you appetite the alternative ABS.

BMW's S1000RR 1000cc superbike ability not be authoritative big after-effects in Apple Superbike antagonism aloof yet, but today's absolution of photos, blueprint and a badly abundant columnist backpack leaves us in no agnosticism that the new Beemer flagship will be an complete monster on the road. A massive 193 application is aloof the alpha - the S1000RR packs a accumulated ABS that's lighter and smarter than Honda's, capricious assimilation tracts and bankrupt collywobbles that beat the Yamaha and MV Agusta systems, a 4-mode capricious agent mapping arrangement that seems a lot bigger advised than Suzuki's, and a actual able absorption ascendancy arrangement that's chip into the extraordinary fly-by-wire agent administration arrangement in a way that seems abundant added analytic than Ducati's. Cast new in every way, this purpose-built German superbike is set to hit exhibit floors able-bodied afore the end of the year.

As Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus agilely go about the continued and backbreaking assignment of developing the S1000RR into a Apple Superbike appellation contender, BMW are accepting set to absolution the cast new superbike to showrooms worldwide.

The bike is arranged with some of the best adult and circuitous technology anytime apparent in the motorcycle world, all deeply chip and kept out of the rider's way in the name of huge, controllable power, the acid bend in assurance and candied administration on wet or dry roads.

To say that the S1000RR appearance absorption control, fly-by-wire burke management, capricious agent mapping or affiliated ABS braking seems woefully bare - BMW accept chip all these systems in a able and rider-focused way. "Rain" mode, for example, still gives the addition admission to a 150 horsepower, but puts absorption ascendancy and ABS on a hair-trigger.

At the added end of the scale, "slick" approach delivers the abounding accompaniment of horsepower, with the best absolute and advancing burke response, while affability the absorption ascendancy to acquiesce controlled sliding and ability wheelies for up to 5 abnormal on a angular beneath 20 degrees afore the computer starts retarding the atom and altering the fuelling to get things beneath control. Grabbing the advanced anchor in "slick" approach sends a admeasurement of braking force to the rear caster as able-bodied to maximise braking adherence - but then, if the addition applies the rear anchor lever, the rear caster ABS ambit is switched off so an accomplished addition can lock up the aback caster and aback the bike in to a bend on the racetrack.

Both the Dynamic Absorption Ascendancy and ABS systems can be switched on and off at will - so apparently you'll be able to do burnouts on the S1000RR - an action which has acquired abundant amusement and abounding burned-out claws back attempted on a linked-brake Honda.

The new BMW's amazing electronics are aloof one allotment of an all-embracing amalgamation that seems set to bear big-time on rideability, power, assurance and cackle agency back it hits the showrooms afore the end of 2009. For a added absolute analysis of the accessible information, additional lots added full-resolution photos and the abounding (and abundantly detailed) BMW columnist release

ABS/Unified Brake System of 2010 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200

The 2010 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 braking system on the Super Tenere sounds very well thought out. ABS is a hugely effective safety feature on roadbikes - and a combined braking system certainly helps deliver more controlled and comfortable stopping - particularly if you're standing up.

Yamaha has built an electronic ABS/combined brake system that uses wheel speed sensors front and rear, as well as other inputs, to decide what's happening at each wheel under braking - and then uses an infinitely variable hydraulic pressure unit to modulate brake pressure if it looks like a wheel is about to lose traction. Apparently this is supposed to kick in even before a slide occurs, and avoid the juddering common to most ABS systems. I guess we'll wait and see.

Since the rear brake's hard to get to when you're standing up, the electronic/hydraulic system is also set up to proportion braking between the front and rear calipers in a controlled fashion. But if you hit the rear brake pedal first, this function is cancelled for that braking instance - so if you're the sort of rider that likes to control the braking proportions in this way, you can have full control. Nifty. Not sure if this control extends to letting you lock the rear wheel up when you want to off-road, but it's a clever step in the right direction.

Chassis 2010 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200

Like the Beemer, the 2010 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 is a heavy bike, coming in at 261kg wet with a full fuel tank (that's about 5kg more than the R1200GS Adventure). But Yamaha has gone to great pains to point out that the mass has been kept low and central throughout the design process to make such a big bike handle across the range of conditions it's built for.

The frame is steel rather than aluminium - a lost opportunity to reduce some of that weight, perhaps, but then steel is tougher in high-shock situations, so it makes the Super Ten a better bike to lay on its side.

Until I saw images of the Yamaha Tesseract, the vehicle I’d been most looking forward to seeing at the Tokyo Motor Show was Toyota’s i-REAL but now Yamaha’s intriguing hybrid four-wheeled motorcycle really has wrested my attention amidst a plethora of other interesting exhibits. Not a great deal of information has been released about the machine, so we’ll have to speculate a little about just what it might be like to ride, and how nimble it might be. It’s really a four-wheel version of the Vespa, Piaggio and Vectrix three-wheelers except the tilting mechanisms (Yamaha has dubbed them “dual-scythe suspension”) are at both ends, so it’s a carving four-wheeler with both front wheels and both rear wheels very close together and although I’m enthralled by the concept in three-wheel form, there’s something about four wheels which makes me think that the transition will be slow when getting out of one corner and into another but that might just be an aging mind - what really does hold promise is two fat and sticky tyres at each end and the G-forces that might be generated with this machine under cornering. One also wonders just how far the tilting mechanism will allow it to tilt? Given that more than 50 degrees of lean is possible on two wheels with tyres these days, my brain cell is really struggling to picture what will happen when you run out of lean angle. http://yamaha-vixion.blogspot.com/. t’s probably some variation along the four-wheel drift theme and although there looks to be lots of traction available, thinking about the possibilities of getting it rubber-side-up looks frightfully expensive. Look at all those suspension components to bend. Modern motorcycles can be so expensive to crash and this one might be doubly so or worse.
There’s no power output mentioned for the liquid-cooled V-twin and its electric hybrid mate, but the Raptor-like visuals of the bike indicate a performance machine and a big V-twin with electric booster will mean more than enough torque to leave big black marks on the tarmac and a top speed that will be theoretical everywhere but a racetrack.

There is also a dual arm-lock system that keeps the machine upright when at rest without a stand.

Of course we’re being critical here because we’re still coming to grips with what is really a new class of four-wheel machine. On the surface it offers motorcycle performance, maneuverability and frugality with a machine width roughly equivalent to that of a two-wheeler but four wheels worth of traction and road-holding. Bonus - this is a new and potent form of recreational machine and we cannot wait!
